23/10/09 - Video for 'No Surrender'

 

Today was the first viewing of the soon to be released single 'No Surrender' on TMF (NL). But don't worry if you missed it or couldn't see it as it is now availabe to see via Kane's youtube channel. It is a beautiful video that is filled with love and fun.

17/10/09 - UK Album listening party / Fan reunion

 

Kane will be releasing their 5th studio album 'No Surrender' in Holland on 27th November. But people of the UK don't worry along with help from Nadja & Emily together we are going to put on an event to get everyone together so we can all listen to the album the day of release together as well as have some fun.

 

We will be gathering the night of Friday 27th November in central London. The venue and meet up time is almost sorted and the final details of it's where abouts will be confirmed shortly. If you live in or around or just fancy a trip to London for a get together wiith other Kane fans then drop me an email here. That way I can make sure you receive all the details needed for the night.

 

We've already had many people showing an interest which is really great so the night promises to be a fun one although Kane won't be there themselves, we will have Kane's new released album 'No Surrender' to listen to, a Kane triva quiz with Kane goodies as prizes and a damn good night out with other fans alike.

16/10/09 - First single 'No Surrender' release date

 

The first single to be released from the forth coming album 'No Surrender' is to be 'No Surrender'. This will be released 6th November and you can order you copy from FreeRecordShop for shipping outside of UK.

 

 

 

08/10/09 - 2 tryout dates at Paard van Troje, Den Haag

 

As promised by Dinand at the Paradiso gigs, it has been announced that Kane will be playing 2 tryout gigs at the Paard van Troje on 15th & 16th November. Tickets go onsale 10th October from Paard van Troje. These tryouts will give Kane an oportunity to play some of the new songs from the new album 'No Surrender' which is being released in Netherlands 27th November.

 

 

 

07/10/09 - 3 Days in Paradiso or was that Paradise?

 

I've just got back after spending 3 days in Netherlands to see all 3 Kane gigs at the Paradiso, each one got better and each one had something unique. They played all their singles that they've released in the last 10 years from 'Where Do I Go Now' to 'It's London Calling'. It has been an amazing adventure for them and I was glad to have been there to see the shows. Again I've got some fond memories. You can view my pictures here and my review here.

 

I will also be putting something to you that might interest you if you live in the UK and of course it will have lots to do with Kane. Watch this space for more information.

 

 

 

28/09/09 - 'No Surrender' to be released 27th November 2009

 

Fantastic news to brighten up a Monday morning was the announcement on Kane. nl to say that Kane's 5th studio album is going to be released 27th November and will be called 'No Surrender'. No more details have been given as yet but the excitement is already mounting with this much information. Something we do know is who is on the album besides the obvious of Dinand and Dennis and that is Nico Brandsen (keys), Ivo Severijns (bass), Robin Berlijn (guitar) and Joost Kroon (drums). Watch this space for more info as it is announced.

 

 

 

20/09/09 - New blog on Kane.nl from Dinand... It's magical!

 

Dinand has posted a new blog on kane.nl talking about exciting yet busy times ahead. He talks about capturing the magic for the forthcoming album and how there are already an 'x' amount of singles standing out. There are many more things to do but it is all good. Paul Lee R.I.P.

Also just want to mention another UK fan who was very passionate about Kane tragically died in a motorbike accident last week. Paul you will be missed, now who do I talk to about the gigs?! Hope you are at peace. x

 

 

10/09/09 - 2009 and the story continues..

 

Dennis & Dinand have posted the final blog on the reflection of the 10 years since their first single 'Where Do I Go Now'. They have been over whelmed with all the fan contributions with the amazing memories of the timeline for the past 10 years.

 

They then go on to talk about the future and the 5th studio album and how it is progressing and how they feel it is just like that first album where the songs are just flowing and one that will show just how they are feeling right now which is 'good'.

Today is Dinand's birthday and I'm sure if we shout loud enough he will hear our birthday wishes across the pond! Happy Birthday Dinand, hope you have a fantastic and special day spent with lots of fun and laughter.

2004 was a very emotional year for the guys and if you read Dinand's blogs from hyves you will know how emotional it was for them. But now the time has come for 2005 and Fearless. 2004 was the year where most of us in UK discovered Kane and for some they did make the journey to Holland in 2005 to see them, myself included so again 2005 was an amazing year for me with Kane memories and I hope that some of you will join in and share yours.

 

 

 

29/06/09 - Kane timeline the year is now 2004

 

It has come to the time where Kane graced our shores with their vibrant, addictive, emotional and uniqueness sound. Yes this is the year where us UK fans can reflect back on and sigh as we all know just one ax solo from Dennis, those few emotional notes from Dinand and thumping drumming from Martijn not forgetting that cheeky grin from Dion was enough to hook us and yearning for more. Dinand has posted part 1 of his blog to reflect 2004 and what it meant to him although for him the year didn't start of so good.

25/06/09 - Fansite concert in Le Vagabond, Rotterdam

 

Last night there was a special concert held in Le Vagabond in Rotterdam for the fansite webmasters. I was very lucky to find the email inviting me to attend in my email box just a few days after the Ado stadium gig, so to contemplate going back to Holland so soon didn't register!

 

I flew over the day before the event to meet up with some friends and so the whole visit was just one big megga party. BUT seeing Kane in a small bar with no more than 60 people was something that was a thing of the past for Kane in Holland and so it was such a huge privilidge to have been there. The show was semi acoustic and absolutely fantastic although it was very hot and sweaty it didn't stop the atmosphere and the party going on.

21/06/09 - 10 years of Kane 2003.

 

And so we reach 2003 with the 10 year timeline of Kane. Dennis has taken his turn again to reflect on this and again you can head over to Kane's hyves profile to read blogs and fans input of their 2003 memories and Kane.

 

For UK fans don't be afraid to join up to Hyves if you want to input on any of these years especially with 2004 approaching the year that Kane came to UK. Although comments and blogs etc are in Dutch there is an English version of Hyves so you can find your way around. Just sign up here. You will notice the union jack on the top in the middle. 10/06/09 - 10 years of Kane 2002.

 

The trip continues down the timeline and now we are on 2002. This was they year where 'Rain down on me' made its first debute a song that we in UK are very aware of 2 years later. 07/06/09 - Ado Stadium Concert.

 

I was fortunate to attend the concert last night which I have to say was outstanding. First time seeing Kane live in Holland for 4 years and there was no disappointment at all. They really are amazing showmen and know how to feed their audience. I will be adding pictures and a review of the concert later today. But for now, if you haven't already I would consider a trip to Holland to catch Kane at one their festival dates or Paradiso because they certainly are putting on a show that will be talked about in many years to come. It was nice to see other people from UK there too; Paul I hope you enjoyed your first Kane concert.

 

 

29/05/09 - 10 Years of Kane and we are now on the year 2001...

 

Are you still following the timeline with Kane on hyves? You will noticed that they are now on 2001. Dennis has done the memory re-capturing this time. Also remember to keep sending your memorabila to make the journey more exciting.

 

 

20/05/09 - 10 Years of Kane and we are now on the year 2000...

 

I hope you are following the timeline with Kane on hyves? If not then you need to get over there as they've moved on from 1999 to 2000. Dinand has written a nice piece of what Kane got up to that year and people are digging deep to post their memorabila. If you was around supporting Kane in 2000 head over yourselves and add your pictures/videos/magazine cuttings to add to the incredible journey.

 

 

09/05/09 - 10 Years of Kane and so the timeline begins...

 

Kane released their very first single 10 years ago this year and they are making a huge party to celebrate. They have made a 10 year timeline on their Hyves page and every 10 days they are going to be flashbacking with their memories. So basically 10 years in 100 days. But also they want you the fan to participate by digging into your crave boxes and digging out old tickets, pictures, setlists in fact any memorabila that you have and to send it on to them. And as it is a huge party there will be some amazing prizes up for grabs which include VIP tickets, backstage passes and meet & greets for the 3 sold out Paradiso gigs in October.

 

So been a fan from 1999? Then you best start digging out now and get posting to the blogs/slideshows on Kane's hyves profile to be in with a chance of winning one of Kane 10 year celebration prizes. Translations will follow of each flashback but you can see the flashback videos so far on Kane's youtube channel.

Kane have been nominated for the Best Live Act catergory and you can help them achieve more by nominating them for all other categories. 30/04/09 - Tonights gig at Museumplein has been cancelled

 

Dinand wrote today on Hyves how sad and deepened Kane are regarding the sad and tragic event of today and that it would be imposible for them play with these sad circumstances.

 

I want to express my thoughts and best wishes for all the Dutch people in what should have been a joyous day but sadly a very sad day for Holland.

 

 

20/04/09 - 3rd night announced for Paradiso!

 

Due to a huge demand and total sellout for the first 2 gigs announced to celebrate 10 years of Kane, today Kane announced they will be doing a 3rd show on the 6th October. So for those that missed out on tickets for the first 2 shows, tickets go onsale tomorrow morning here.

 

 

15/04/09 - New Kane.nl and 2 Paradiso (singles only) gigs

 

If you haven't already noticed, the new kane.nl site has gone live and what an amazing site. Make sure you visit, join up and login to watch the webcam and join in the chat!

 

Also today Kane announced that they will be doing 2 special gigs 4th & 5th of October to celebrate 10 years since they released their first single. These gigs will be more than special as not only will they be intimate but they will be playing from start to finish each and every single they've released.

 

Tickets go on sale for this event Saturday 18th April at 10am (9am UK time) and will be gone like hot cakes so make sure you are there ready to get yours from here.

 

 

11/04/09 - Blog on Hyves from Dinand

 

Dinand has posted a new blog about how good last night's peformance was at Paaspop on Hyves. He thanked everyone for a good vibe and mentioned about a very mixed setlist. He also mentions that there will be a new Kane.nl very soon and he has already had a peak and that today 'Easter Sunday' Kane are in the studio to record part 1 of Kane 5. He ends with wishing you a Happy Easter and hopes to see you on Kane.nl.

07/04/09 - LInk for Ado tickets outside of Holland

 

A few people have been having trouble getting tickets from the general sale of the Ado tickets as they live outside of Holland, well don't worry with thanks to Paul who was very persistant to paylogic we now have a link that will allow other people to purchase tickets.

07/04/09 - Kane Rocks is 5 years old today!

 

5 years seems so far away now but yet I've had so many wonderful memories from the day I first saw Kane which led me to design a website idealy for UK people to help them be aware of Kane. My website has been through many designs and changes the first being online with the basic layout in just 4 days but one thing that has always stayed the same and that is my addiction to Kane. There may have been times over the past few years where family had to come first but I've never stopped yearning for that next gig.

 

But anyways enough of that, firstly a huge thank you to Claire who pushed me to the limit haha.....now take a look around the place and please note I still have to add things and I'm still tweaking but I think it has scrubbed up well and it would be great to hear your thoughts on the new layout and I hope you joining me in celebrating 5 years today!

 

 

01/04/09 - Ado Stadium June 2009

 

Dinand has posted a blog at Kane's Hyves profile about some exciting news. This year they will finally play a gig at the Ado Stadium in Den Haag. This will be on 6th June and Dinand invites all to attend for this special concert. It will definitely not be a show you want to miss with trying out some songs from their forth coming album to be on the set. Watch your mailboxes for that Kane newsletter with more information on how to get your tickets to the special pre-sale for those signed up.

 

 

15/03/09 - More Festival Dates

 

There have been more festival dates announced including the latest to be Indian Summer as mentioned on their Twitter profile. Kane are working to fit in those 35 gigs that Dinand promised and you can find all the dates as they are announced on the tour page.

 

 

06/03/09 - Updates from Dinand

 

There is an update from Dinand regarding Kane and 2009. I will translate it later in full for you but just wanted to let you know some of the exciting things to look forward to. He mentions a minimum of 35 gigs this year including the festivals, recording the next album, webcam and chat room in the studio whilst they record, asking for you to carry on voting for them for the 3FM Awards and TMF awards and something special for the KANE fansites oh and he is getting married!! I will add the full translation later..

 

 

24/02/09 - Award Nominations

 

Kane have been nominated not just for one award but 3 in the 3FM Awards in Holland. They are nominated for Best Band, Best Live Band and Best Artist 'Rock'. You can find out more information and to cast your votes as every vote counts by visiting the 3FM Website.

Our favourite Dutch guitarist is having a birthday today. I'm sure you'll all join me in wishing Dennis a very Happy Birthday and Dennis, I hope its a good one filled with lots of everything you wish for.

 

 

 

07/01/09 - 2008 Reflections and a busy 2009!

 

You have probably already received the newsletter from Kane but just to help you out I've translated this into English so you can read Dinand's reflections on 2008 and what great things there are to look forward to in 2009.

 

'It's the most wonderful time of the year'

 

And so we closed the year in London, it was Christmas and before we knew, it was the New Year! What more could you want ... HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE ... I wish you all the best!!!

So that is how the year ended, before we knew it was over. A year ago Dennis went to radio 3FM with our first single 'CATWALK CRIMINAL' from the album that wasn't totally finished at the time.

 

From that moment it went from 3FM to New York. From 1st of January at 00:00 at the river Maas, a great party to kick off recording the vocals in my backyard. From the 3FM Awards to the release of 'SHOT OF A GUN'. From the gig 23rd April in Den Haag to the release of 'EVERYTHINGYOUWANT'. From Radio 538 Queens Day to visiting the Navy at sea. From Paradiso to sound checking in De Kuip. From Groningen to Leuven. From the 'EVERYTHINGYOUWANT' tour in November to 'IT'S LONDON CALLING' in London on a beautiful Saturday night. And everything that happened in between. It was a really busy year and over before we knew it.

 

It feels like 1st January 2008 was just a month ago but 1st January 2009 is already old news!

 

The highlights of the past year? Mmm ... I'll write the first things that spring to mind:

 

1. The sound check, playing and the walk to and from the stage at De Kuip.
2. Performing before the Ladies and Gentlemen of the MMS 'THE ROTTERDAM'.
3. The conquest of Groningen ....
4. 1st January 2008 - Rotterdam after party.
5. HMH November 2008 / London December 2008.

 

And with this top 5 in the bag we step into the new year. We have plenty to do in 2009. We are going to play many gigs and we going to write many new songs the beginning of 2009. Later in the year we will play them before we go into the studio. This should be around the middle of 2009. So the year has just started but already we are at full speed ahead with many new things. We hope that 2009 will be a great new year for everyone, with lots of good news and many beautiful good things.

01/01/09 - Happy New Year!

 

Happy New Year to all Kane Rocks visitors. I hope it proves to be a healthy, prosperous & fun filled 2009 for you. Kane Rocks is looking to the future already and hoping that 2009 is going to be filled with Kane gigs and all as well as keeping the site more up to date than it has been recently. Just want to take the oportunity to wish each and everyone a very Merry Christmas and hope you all have a wonderful 2009 that is filled with all your wishes coming true. Hope you all have a good one!

I'm still smiling from seeing Kane back in UK and look forward to seeing them again next year where ever that maybe I'll be there! Things are looking good.

 

 

19/12/08 - Kane played a private showcase in London.

 

I said I would return when I could and here I am! Last night I was very lucky to to be at the showcase that Dutch people could only be at by winning a radio competition which was in London.

 

Upon arriving there was 100 Dutch fans all ready and waiting for Kane to perform and lets say it has been to long since I last saw them and when they took to the stage all the amazing memories came flooding back. As always for me it was a gig that will hold fond, special memories and well I thought you might like to see some pictures! So head over to hereand checkout Kane back in London after 4 years.

 

Dennis & Dinand both were amazing, and it was also awesome news to hear Dinand announce that he and Lucy are getting married next year, Congratulations!

 

I am going to do my best to start keeping on top of things in the New Year now that things seem to be getting back on track for me and I hope to get this site back as it was rocking with Kane. So watch this space for more updates soon!
